And now a word from Tura Satana

I'm having a geek fit right about now. Yesterday I posted about Britney Spears being considered for the Tura Satana part in a remake of 'Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!' and today I get a message from Tura Satana herself squashing the rumor. From Tura Satana herself!:

"IT ISN'T SO! If Quentin ever put her in that role, he would have me to answer to."

So cool.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch 'Sugar Boxx':

Britney Spears is no Tura Satana

Dlisted.com says Quentin Tarantino is pursuing Britney Spears to play Varla in his remake of 'Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!'

This cannot be. It must not.

The iconic role of Varla was originally played by the legendary Tura Satana. Tura is a real life Japanese-American internment camp survivor who was raped as a child and learned martial arts to get revenge on her attackers. She quit school at 15 and became a famous burlesque performer before being discovered by exploitation flick director Russ Meyer.

Tura is also my friend on myspace and one time she commented me saying, "You've caught the Eye of this Tiger!"

You read that right, Tura Satana quoted 'Eye of the Tiger' to me.

Britney Spears is no Tura Satana.

In the 'Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!' clip below, Tura karate chops a man to death and calls him 'buster'.
