Colorado Springs PrideFest is this weekend and there's gonna be a huge party at The Underground in Colorado Springs this Saturday night.

It's a White Party and there'll be ten different DJ's spinning on two different stages, including DJ Funk from Chicago, DJ johnnyonelove from Austin as well as a number of locals. The music starts at 6 p.m. and goes on long into the next morning at 4 a.m.

Sunday's Pride Parade, which attracted 10,000 people last year, ends in Acacia park, where PrideFest is held, and is less than a block from the Underground. DJ onelove and Tommy B are staying over and will be spinning from 3-8 p.m. at the Underground with free drinks from 3-4 p.m.

Focus on the Family recently released a newspaper advertisement opposing recently-passed Senate Bill 200.

Senate Bill 200 was a momentous victory for the Colorado LGBT community, especially in Colorado Springs, as it prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and transgender status with regard to housing and public accomodations. Focus on the Family’s campaign is not based on the reality of the Bill, but rather on misinformation and fear-mongering.

Right now, the legislators who stood up to support equal rights for all people are being bombarded with calls from Focus on the Family's supporters. THEY NEED TO HEAR FROM US! Focus on the Family has developed this ad campaign as a scare tactic to encourage uninformed individuals to call their representatives in hopes of preventing future equal rights bills from passing. Please take just a moment to call and/or write our legislators to let them know we do care, and we are glad they stood up for equality by passing SB200. I was hoping to join Barack Obama in Colorado Springs on Thursday and get you all some sweet Springs-related posts but it turns out I've got some more business in Denver that takes priority.
