Michael K of Dlisted recently posted (via Hollywood Tuna, site NSFW) about a series of pics of "England's finest rose" Jodie Marsh as She-Hulk and it immediately put me in mind of another She-Hulk photoshoot from days gone by starring the one and only Brigitte Nielson taken back in her heyday at a time a She-Hulk TV show was supposedly in the works.
So, who makes the better Shulkie - Jodie or Brigitte?

Books: 75 Years of DC Comics
In honor of the publisher’s 75th anniversary, TASCHEN has produced the single most comprehensive book on DC Comics, in an XL edition even Superman might have trouble lifting. More than 2,000 images—covers and interiors, original illustrations, photographs, film stills, and collectibles—are reproduced using the latest technology to bring the story lines, the characters, and their creators to vibrant life as they’ve never been seen before in '75 Years of DC Comics'.
Telling the tales behind the tomes is 38-year DC veteran Paul Levitz, whose in-depth essays trace the company’s history, from its pulp origins through to the future of digital publishing. Year-by-year timelines that fold out to nearly four feet and biographies of the legends who built DC make this an invaluable reference for any comic book fan.

Shatterstar and Rictor as they were meant to be
Shatterstar and Rictor are two superheroes who've been around since the late '80s. They were originally supposed to be gay for each other but Marvel got cold feet (like they did with Mystique and Destiny) and the two just ended up as friends ... very close friends. They went their separate ways for quite a while but they have recently reunited in the pages of X-Factor where it looks like they're going to be making up for lost time. - via Heroes 'N Hunks (site NSFW).

Angel and Spike are in love in the new issue of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel and Spike are in loooove in the new issue of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. You can check out three slashtastic pages at Darkhorse.com.
The art on this series is really amazing even if, for me, the storylines have been a little hit-or-miss.
I've missed the last few issues but I'll definitely be hitting the comic book shop to pick up this ish. - via Gay League

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Hugh Jackman reprises the role that made him a superstar - as the fierce fighting machine who possesses amazing healing powers, retractable claws and a primal fury in 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine.' Leading up to the events of X-Men, 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe whose appearances in the film series have long been anticipated (Ryan Reynolds (yay) as Deadpool (boo)). Opens May 1.
As much of a comic book fanboy as I am, I still don't know if I'm gonna see this. I just don't care for the lame origin they decided to saddle Wolverine with. I wish Marvel had just gone ahead with Chris Claremont's original origin with Sabretooth as his father.

April is Wolverine appreciation Month
Well I've been appreciating Wolverine since I was about 11 years old but the powers-that-be at Marvel have designated April 2009 as Wolverine Appreciation Month. So have at it!

Ha, I actually have the comic book this panel if from (can't remember the exact number or title right now) and, even at 11 years old, I knew there was something not quite right about it.

Is Bea Arthur the new Black Panther?
A new Black Panther will be taking over for King T'Challa this February in the pages of Marvel Comics.
The company has been putting out a series of teaser images featuring different characters wearing Black Panther's familiar skin tight togs and panther mask and, apparently, Bea Arthur is in the running.

A month of good GLBT comic books
The good folks at Comic Book Resources (in conjunction with Prism Comics ) are doing a monthlong feature on GLBT comic books.
First up is the Curbside Boys graphic novel.
Having worked in gay media since the dawn of time, I saw this strip around different places every now and again for probably the last 15 years and I always hated it because it made no sense whatsoever to me. Maybe I'll get more out of it in graphic novel format.
Haven't read the article myself yet but I will as soon as I get back from GNC. I'm out of protein powder and I get cranky if I miss my 10 a.m. feeding.

Every ElfQuest ever now available online
Raise your hand if you're a big old comic nerd like me. Uh, anybody? So what, I'm still psyched to hear that the oldest independently published comic-book of all time, ElfQuest, is making their entire 30-year run of issues available for free online at ElfQuest.com.
Not only that, but there are rumblings that the series will be made into a movie sometime in the near future. Sweet!
