The Alexander Foundation Asks For Your Support This Tuesday, Colorado Gives Day

From The Alexander Foundation:
We trust that by now you have  received our holiday letter. While we understand you receive a number of letters requesting financial assistance this time of year, we hope that you will consider The Alexander Foundation's first for your holiday giving. Your support is invaluable in helping us achieve our mission of providing financial assistance to the LGBT community of Colorado.
Last year your generous support allowed us to provide nearly $8,000 in holiday assistance to individuals in need  throughout our community. While we are optimistic that requests for assistance this year will only minimally increase, should there be a rise, we would like to  have the opportunity to offer  support to everyone; a goal that can only be achieved with your assistance.
On Tuesday December 10th, TAF is participating in Colorado Gives day. This is a day designed to increase philanthropy in Colorado through on-line giving. We urge you do donate on that day, and ask that you encourage others by spreading the word about the importance of giving back to your community. Of course we welcome your support any time before or after this date as well.
The Holiday Gift Guide, featured in the December 4th issue of Out Front, TAF has the distinction of being one of five nonprofit organizations to consider for your charitable giving during the season. While we appreciate the support of our community partners, we need your support most of all. Your donations are the key to the continued success of The Alexander Foundation and its efforts. If you have already made a donation to TAF this holiday season, we offer our sincerest thanks. If not, we  challenge you to consider us during this most important time of the year. Follow this link to make your donation now.
The holiday season is a time of joy and charity, may you be rich in both. And thank you again for your continued support of our collective purpose. Happy Holidays!

BCAP Asks For Your Support This Tuesday, Colorado Gives Day

From BCAP:

When a person tests positive for HIV at BCAP, they are linked directly to our medical case management team. Here they receive personalized care to address their treatment and basic needs in order to achieve long-term stable health and reduce transmission of HIV to others. As BCAP provides these services, we must protect our client’s personal health data.

BCAP feels a responsibility to be frugal, and therefore, our computers are over 7 years old. Unfortunately, Microsoft will stop supporting the operating system this coming Spring. These computers are too old to effectively run the latest operating systems, and will become non-compliant with HIPAA. Therefore, we have an urgent and mandatory need to protect our client’s personal health data by replacing our computer systems.

To do this, we need your help. On December 10th, we must raise $20,000 on Colorado Gives Day to replace our computers, server and software in order to continue to provide critical basic needs to people living with HIV in our community.

BCAP can only continue its services with the support of the community. If you believe in the services that the Boulder County AIDS Project provides, please consider supporting BCAP on Colorado Gives Day, December 10th. You can also pre-schedule your donation today by clicking here.

Thank you for being a part of this vital organization.

Colorado Gives Day kick off party at JR's to benefit BCAP

Colorado Gives Day is a statewide, non-profit effort to raise $1 million, online, in 24 hours, on December 8th. There will be a kick-off party at JR's on December 7 beginning at 7pm.

Boulder Colorado AIDS Project is thrilled to be participating in Colorado Gives Day and is working hard to meet their goal of raising $30,000 in one day.

Dan Hanley, director of development at BCAP says, "We at Boulder County AIDS Project have set a goal to raise $30,000 in that 24 hours, something that we have never done. This is an incredible opportunity for us to show how vital our work is and how we and other HIV/AIDS groups can do so much more when we have the financial support of our community. BCAP has generous support from The Gill Foundation and The Brett Family Foundation in matching many of the donations, and we feel that our community will help us surpass our goal.”

The Mission of Boulder County AIDS Project (BCAP) is twofold: to provide support, advocacy and education to those in our community who are infected with or affected by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and to serve as an outreach and information center to prevent further transmission of HIV and the resulting Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
