For the third consecutive game, the Broncos will match up against a team fresh off its bye week.
This time around, it's the defending Super Bowl champions -- the Pittsburgh Steelers -- on Monday Night Football at INVESCO Field at Mile High.
"(Pittsburgh) is a very physical team in every phase," Head Coach Josh McDaniels said. "To me, that is where it starts with the Steelers. Every one of their players plays like that. I don't care if it is the kickoff returner, the kicker, the tight ends, the lines, whomever it is, (quarterback Ben) Roethlisberger, they are all physical players that play tough and are going to present that challenge to us individually and as a team collectively."
So the team will head back home for the first time since Week 5, and try to come out of a clash with the defending NFL champions with a 7-1 record. Read more about it here.

Broncos sign Berger
The Broncos on Monday signed punter Mitch Berger, it was announced. To make room for Berger on the roster, the club also waived second-year punter Brett Kern.
Berger is a 16th-year NFL veteran and two-time Pro Bowl choice. He spent last season as a member of the Super Bowl-champion Pittsburgh Steelers, where he ranked fifth in the league in opponent punt return average -- with 6.4 yards per return.
Berger ranks 19th in NFL history with a 43.0 career punting average. Since 1999, he is fifth in the NFL in both gross and net average.

It was announced on Tuesday that Eddie Royal will be named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 6.
It is the first such award in his career.

Bronco's victory give 5-0 start
Coming off a dramatic come-from-behind victory against Dallas, the Broncos found themselves in the same situation against Boston in Sunday's Legacy Game. A week after scoring 17 unanswered points to defeat the Cowboys, the Broncos reeled off 13 unanswered against the Patriots, en route to a 20-17 overtime victory at INVESCO Field at Mile High and a 5-0 start.
Boston quickly jumped out to a 10-0 first-quarter lead, via an 8-yard touchdown reception from Wes Welker and a 53-yard field goal from Stephen Gostkowski. Welker's catch snapped the Broncos' four-game streak of not allowing a passing touchdown. Kyle Orton struck back in the second quarter, finding Brandon Marshall from 11 yards out to cut the deficit to 10-7. With just five ticks left on the clock in the half, the Patriots responded with a 7-yard touchdown connection between Tom Brady and tight end Benjamin Watson, taking a 17-7 lead into the locker room.
That turned out to be the last score for the Patriots on the afternoon. The Broncos defense clamped down in the second half, keeping the Patriots without a point on all six of their second half drives. Trailing 17-10 with four-and-a-half minutes left in the fourth quarter, Orton connected again with Marshall from 11 yards out, evening the two teams at 17-17. The catch was the exclamation point on a 12-play, 98-yard drive.
The game went to overtime, but after winning the coin toss, the Broncos offense made sure to put the game away. Orton marched his unit 58 yards down the field on 11 plays, capped by Matt Prater's game-winning 41-yard field goal.

Dramatic win for Broncos
The Broncos saved their best for last Sunday afternoon, beating the Dallas Cowboys 17-10 in dramatic fashion at INVESCO Field at Mile High to improve to 4-0 on the season.
After Kyle Orton connected with Brandon Marshall for a go-ahead 51-yard touchdown reception with just under two minutes remaining in regulation, Denver's defensive unit bent but didn't break. They preserved the victory by holding the Cowboys on 4th-and-goal from the Denver 2-yard line with one second remaining on the clock.
Tony Romo (pictured) directed Dallas' offense 78 yards down to the goal line, but Champ Bailey stopped passes intended for Sam Hurd on third and fourth down, respectively, sending Denver home with a hard-fought victory.
Trailing 10-0 after the first quarter, the Broncos scored 17 points unanswered points to come away with the win.

Broncos' Pater honored as Player of the Month
Yesterday, the Broncos were informed that kicker Matt Prater will be named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September.
Prater's selection as AFC Special Teams Player of the Month is the first such award of his three-year NFL career. It marks the first time in four seasons that a Bronco has won the award and only the fourth time a Denver player has received the nomination since it was initiated by the NFL in 1993.
Prater helped the Broncos to a 3-0 record and a first-place standing in the AFC West in September by converting 7-of-9 field-goal attempts, including all three tries from beyond 40 yards. He posted AFC bests in touchbacks, touchback percentage and kickoffs reaching the end zone to help Denver lead the conference in lowest opponent average starting position after kickoffs for the month.

Broncos win first AFC West matchup
The Broncos improved to 3-0 on the season by beating the Oakland Raiders 23-3 Sunday afternoon at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum.
A complete team effort helped the Broncos win their first AFC West matchup of the season.
On offense, Correll Buckhalter (108 yards on 14 carries) and Knowshon Moreno (90 yards on 21 carries) combined for 198 rushing yards. Meanwhile, Brandon Marshall paced the club in receiving yards, totaling five catches for 67 yards, including a first-quarter touchdown reception. Kyle Orton once again played turnover-free ball, going 13-of-23 for 157 yards and connecting with Marshall for the early score.

Broncos discover potential weapons
The Broncos dropped to 0-3 this preseason, falling 27-17 to the Bears in their first 2009 appearance at INVESCO Field at Mile High. While the result was not what Head Coach Josh McDaniels or his team wanted, more potential weapons were discovered in the third game of the exhibition slate.
Trailing 17-3 at halftime, the Broncos' offense found its footing behind rookie Tom Brandstater. Brandstater engineered the first touchdown drive of his pro career - nine plays, 61 yards - with a little help from the legs of Peyton Hillis, who scored on a two-yard run. That score was set up by a 19-yard passing connection between Brandstater and Brandon Lloyd, which put the Broncos in a 1st and goal at the 1-yard line.
After the Bears got a touchdown of their own, the Broncos responded again with another big play through the air by Brandstater. He found fellow rookie Kenny McKinley, on a 54-yard strike, marking the longest completion by any of the five quarterbacks in tonight's contest. Five plays later, Darius Walker scampered into the end zone, pulling the Broncos to within a one-possession deficit.
